Port Melbourne is both a residential and industrial area located close to Melbourne's CBD, bounded by the West Gate Freeway in the north, Boundary Street and Pickles Street in the east, Port Phillip in the south, and Todd Road in the west. Port Melbourne was not originally an affluent or sought after suburb, however the past decade has seen real estate prices soar as new developments and infrastructure grew.

Major features of the area include the retail area along Bay Street with fantastic cafes and boutique shopping, Princes Pier, Station Pier, Port Melbourne Cricket Ground, Port Melbourne Town Hall, Edwards Park, Garden City Reserve, Lagoon Reserve, Murphy Reserve, Sandridge Beach, the foreshore and two schools.
